Laurence Stein

Mr. Stein joined Golub Capital in 2026 and is Co-President of the Firm. He is responsible for advancing the Firm’s growth strategy by sustaining operational excellence and increasing scalability across the organization. He oversees all shared services functions, including Technology, Operations, Finance, Treasury, Marketing, Investor Communications, Fund Accounting, Human Capital, Legal, Compliance and Change Management. Prior to joining Golub Capital, Mr. Stein had a 27-year career at Goldman Sachs where he was a Partner and served as a member of their management committee. While at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Stein held senior leadership positions across multiple lines of businesses including: Chief Operating Officer of Asset & Wealth Management; Chief Operating Officer of Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities; and Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to that, Mr. Stein worked at Ernst & Young in New York in their Financial Services Practice. Mr. Stein started his career at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in South Africa. Mr. Stein earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Post Graduate diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Mr. Stein serves on the Board of Directors of Truist Financial Corporation and Athos Therapeutics LLC.
